Keyon Harrold kicked off his Blue Note residency with an All-Star lineup.
Backstage was over flowing with only professionals, and the support was extreamly organic. Everyone from NPR, Mass Appeal, and Joey Bada$$ pulled up to experience music history.
The sound of Keyon’s custom Adams horn filled the Blue Note from wall to wall. The vibes were blasting, and pouring out the door onto West 3rd street. The BASS knocking from Burniss “Boom” Travis, Nir Felder was on Guitar, Shedrick “The Piano Man” Mitchell on the keys, and Chris “Daddy” Dave killing’ the Drums. Special guest, BIG K.R.I.T. and BILAL performed, “Stay This Way.”
As Keyon Harrold said, “My residency at the Blue Note is not about Jazz. It is about the music that people love, and if I had a genre, it would be called, the music that people love.”
